Oulton College Supports Pink Shirt Day!

It was a sea of pink at Oulton College on Wednesday, Feb 27th in support of Pink Shirt Day!

Pink Shirt Day brings to light the issue of bullying and strives to encourage our communities to make positive change in ensuring a safe, supportive community for everyone. To read about the positive actions of the two teenage boys who started it all, click here.

Oulton College recognizes the importance of a safe space to learn and work and the call to action, ensuring bully prevention, was evident today as pink shirts filled our hallways!

With the help of the Child and Youth Care class, students and staff had the opportunity to sign the Pink Shirt Day Pledge (producing almost 400 signatures) which states:

"I pledge to support, or continue to support, bully reduction by taking part in a positive action that will make positive CHANGE. I pledge to support those who have been subjected to bullying, open my eyes and be alert to all instances of bullying and prevent bullying by reporting hurtful behaviour"

Students and faculty are proud to take a stand and say “Bullying Stops Here!”
